Everyone’s Writing Again — Here’s Why Threads, LinkedIn, Substack, and Reddit Matter for Your Visibility

By the Power Table Team

The fastest way to build credibility right now isn’t louder content — it’s clearer thinking, more authentic, conversation-led, and the places that are popping off are Threads, LinkedIn, long-form writing, and yes, Reddit.

Visibility in 2026 looks different than it did even a year or two ago.

It’s not about posting more, or – dare we say it…

for the first time in years, posting way less video.

Across the board, personal brands and solopreneurs are seeing content convert by using what we call at The Power Table “documented thinking” — building in public, building out a body of work, and making sure your ideas live long enough to be found, referenced, trusted, and shared.

That’s why text-based content is quietly becoming one of the most powerful visibility strategies for founders, speakers, and B2B brands. And honestly if it means less graphics and video creation?

We’re here for it.

The Rise of Text-Based Content (By the Numbers)

There is measurable data that suggests text-based content is rapidly surging in popularity and because we love data around here, we had to share it with you.

Note: All of these platforms do also support photo and video (and Substack can even support your podcast) but are primarily text-based platforms.

Threads grew from 350M in April 2025 → 400M+ by August 2025, a +50M jump in a few months. Meta also says 150 million of these users are on the platform daily.

Substack hit 5M paid subscriptions in 2025, which actually doubled from 2024 (if you want to check out Power Table founder Taylor’s substack, here it is!).

LinkedIn newsletter publishing is up 59% year-over-year and newsletter engagement is up 47% year-over-year.

What the stats are telling us:

If you’re building a personal brand, trying to land speaking gigs, or pitching brand partnerships, this matters because it signals one thing: people are consuming written ideas again — at scale.

Okay – but What Should I Write?

So yes, text-based platforms are growing — but that still leaves the real question: What kind of writing actually moves the needle for your business?

The answer depends on whether you’re building for depth or reach — which is where long-form and short-form text content come in.

Long-Form Writing: Your Body of Work (and Your Competitive Advantage)

If you’ve got capacity (er, 2-4 hours per week that you used to spend editing reels), we recommend you start dipping your toes into long-form written content — blogs, Substack essays, LinkedIn articles. This is where credibility often compounds.

This isn’t just content. It’s infrastructure in the form of nurture content for sales, an intellectual body of work for your own credibility and recognition, and can drive traffic to your business for years to come.

Why a Written Body of Work Matters

There are a lot of reasons for your business to have long-form written content, but let’s just go over the important ones.

1. SEO, AEO, and Being Found Without Trying

Have you ever had someone buy from you and they said, “Chatgpt recommended you?”

We have and that felt like a crowning achievement. And it’s text-based content that made it happen.

Long-form writing is still the backbone of discoverability.

It’s what ranks on Google, what gets pulled into AI-generated answers, and what journalists, event hosts, and brand partners read when they’re deciding whether to trust you and choose you.

Let’s talk about AI for just a minute: AEO

In 2026, visibility isn’t just SEO — it’s AEO (Answer Engine Optimization). AEO is the text-based summaries you see now at the top of google, instagram, and even the search results that come up when you ask questions like, “Who is the best brand photographer in Dallas?” to ChatGPT. AI tools pull from original, structured, authoritative writing to answer questions.

When your ideas and work are clearly documented, you show up not only in traditional search results but also in AI summaries, and your content works even when you’re offline.

2. Thought Leadership Lives on the Page

Thought leadership is the name of the game in 2026 – and the key to landing media and press features, speaking gigs, brand partnerships AND clients. And thought leadership isn’t just about having strong opinions — it’s about sharing your fully developed ideas.

Long-form writing lets you:

  • Explain how you think
  • Share lived experience, not recycled advice
  • Connect dots your audience hasn’t connected yet
  • Take a clear stance

This is what separates “people who post content” from people who are trusted and recognized.er vision.

3. Intellectual Property You Actually Own

Your writing becomes:

  • Frameworks
  • Language
  • Methodologies
  • Naming

That’s intellectual property.

A clear written body of work makes you harder to copy, easier to credit, and more valuable to collaborate with. It’s also what allows your ideas to scale beyond you posting every day.

4. Speaking Gigs, Media, and Brand Partnerships

Decision-makers don’t just look at follower counts (in fact this matters less and less) — they look at proof.

They Google you.
They skim your writing.
They decide whether you’re credible in minutes.

A strong blog or Substack:

  • Shortens the sales cycle
  • Makes pitching easier
  • Reduces risk for event hosts and brands

You don’t need the biggest audience — you need documented expertise.

So, if you’ve got the time to start a writing habit in 2026, this is where we’d recommend you start. Pick a platform you already enjoy and start building out depth in your business.

But, if you’re short on time or struggle with the idea of writing long pieces of content, or your visibility goals require as much brand awareness as possible, short-form text content is another great strategy and might make the most sense for you so in the next section of this article, we’re breaking it down.

Short-Form Text: Where Visibility Spreads Faster

Short-form text is quickly becoming one of our favorite content strategies. Places like Threads and Linkedin can be where new clients and community members quickly find you, conversations start, and trust begins to form — especially for entrepreneurs in B2B spaces.

Why Short-Form Text Is Winning Right Now

Text-based content is perfect for B2B marketing, and here’s why: decision-makers don’t want to be entertained — they want clarity.

People who are ready to pay you because they’ve got an urgent problem or desire that you can help with – they don’t need you to entertain them. They need you to have a conversation with them.

Text-based content works because it’s easy to skim, save, screenshot, and forward.

Threads: Conversation Over Performance

Threads works because it’s not a stage — it’s a table and you’re surrounded by interesting people and interesting conversations. Think of Threads like Facebook was 20 years ago, conversational and fun. People actually *wanted* to talk to you and engage.

It rewards:

  • Clear POVs
  • Lived lessons
  • Honest insights
  • Real-time thinking

Threads is especially effective for consultants, coaches, speakers, service-based founders, and B2B brands.

LinkedIn: Credibility Signals That Compound

Want to be where the decision-makers are? It’s LinkedIn.

Text posts and articles perform well because they:

  • Signal leadership
  • Show experience
  • Invite professional dialogue

A consistent text presence on LinkedIn quietly builds recognition, trust, and opportunity — especially when paired with a deeper body of long-form writing.

Reddit: The Surprise Dark Horse of 2026

Reddit isn’t new — but we’ve been quietly hearing “”reddit” whispered by the SEO experts in our community for months and we can honestly say we were *shocked* when a woman slid into our Instagram DMs at Power Table asking when our next networking event was because someone on Reddit had told her about us.

Our prediction – Reddit will be a secret way to generate leads and increase visibility in 2026.

Reddit threads rank extremely well in search, influence buying decisions, and shape opinions before people ever reach your website.

For visibility, Reddit works best when you:

  • Participate instead of promote
  • Answer questions honestly
  • Share expertise without selling
  • Show up as a human, not a brand

For founders and experts, Reddit is becoming a powerful credibility layer — especially for SEO, AEO, and research-driven decisions.

The takeaway: short-form text content isn’t about saying everything — it’s about starting the right conversations in the right rooms (and then moving it to a sales convo, your email list, or any other nurture content you have).

If short-form text feels easier, that’s not a flaw, it’s a feature. These platforms are designed for dialogue, not perfection. They let you show how you think in real time, build trust without over-producing, and get your ideas in front of the people who matter.

Threads, LinkedIn, and Reddit help your ideas move, get tested, and get shared. They create familiarity, signal credibility, and open doors. But on their own, they’re not the destination — they’re the introduction.

How Long-Form and Short-Form Work Together

This doesn’t have to be an either/or strategy, and it can also be a start-with-one now and expand later on strategy.

Long-form content builds depth, authority, and IP.
Short-form text creates reach, conversation, and discovery.

Short-form introduces your ideas.
Long-form confirms credibility.

Together, they create a visibility loop that compounds over time.

The Smart Visibility Strategy for 2026

Here at The Power Table, we do recommend and teach you how to have an omnichannel presence with your business, but that doesn’t mean you need to do everything all at once. We believe in starting with one clear platform and expanding out sustainably as you grow to give people multiple ways to connect, learn, and buy from you.

For text-based content in 2026, we recommend,

  • One long-form home (a blog or Substack)
  • One short-form distribution channel (Threads, LinkedIn, or Reddit)

Or just start with one of these to begin. That’s it.

The Bottom Line

Visibility in 2026 isn’t about noise. It’s about clarity, credibility, and real conversation that AI cannot replace. People, at the end of the day, want to buy from businesses and personal brands they feel a connection to and that they trust.

A written body of work gives you:

  • Search and AI discovery
  • Thought leadership
  • Intellectual property
  • Speaking and partnership leverage

Short-form text moves those ideas into the right rooms.

And the women who understand this shift won’t just be visible, they’ll be trusted, booked, and paid.
